Let's Get A Little Mexican

Okay so we're going to be playing quite a bit of catch up here.  But getting a sunburn on this absolutely gorgeous and unseasonably warm Columbus Day reminded me of better days when I was celebrating my 22nd birthday at Villa Del Palmar in beautiful Punta Sam Cancun with my ever-so-charming boyfriend.

So let's get Mexican real quick and look at some pictures of unbelievable foods, drinks and memories.  First and foremost, check out this awesome resort:

Now for the most important part, the drinks!

That there is a Mexican Coffee also known as the most perfect way to start off your birthday.  A cup of hot coffee, with a shot of Tequila, a shot of Kahlua and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Give me that.

One of the thousands                     Fresh squeezed Jugo--Beet, Jugo Verde y Jugo de Naranja
Also an awesome way to start off absolutely every day

Absolutely amazing Mango Magaritas (Dan's favorite!)      Sticking with my roots, a classic Pina Colada

Give me back that beach bar RIGHT THIS SECOND!

Blue Hawaiians and Blue Lagoons!                     Pomegranate Pina Colada

Okay I'm starting to forget but I know it was good           Lime and Strawberry Smoothies

Pina Coladas with a shot of Blue Curacao                              Annnnd a Watermelon Mojito

Don't worry--we drank beer too, six at a time, in the pool, while playing pong...

I don't know what this is but it's pretty            And this is a very happy, and very beer-filled me

This is the man, Andres, who made all the magic happen... We miss you Andres!

And this is our very last drink at Villa del Palmar :(

So now, the part I'm sure you were wondering about, the food!

Fresh Fruit Plate and a basket of Assorted Sweet Bread

The Light Zama!  So delicious-- 3 Egg Whites with Peppers, Siracha Sauce and some crazy Cheese

Dan's delicious breakfast-- check out those plantains

Thank god for ZAMA!
Side note, I don't know why no dinner pictures made it up here but dinner was amazing as well

So all in all, as you can see, we had a kick ass trip.  And now that that delicious trip down memory lane is over, let's all head back to 60 degree reality and sub par homemade food and dream about better days when LivingSocial posts amazing all-inclusive resort deals.

Adios!  Thanks for a great trip!
